Hi Guys,
Well after what i believe has been a preseason full of real positives and very few negatives, at long last we find ourselves at the start of our league campaign.
I would like to thank everyone for their hard work throughout the preseason, and i feel we have a shown during that time the kind of quality that we are capable of if we work for one another and believe in ourselves that bit more.
We have 3 games coming up in the next seven days, and i have the difficult task in trying to make sure everyone gets as much football as i can possibly give them. so i therefore ask that if your name is not in the 14 for this Sunday, please keep faith and come down to support the lads. everyone in the squad has the ability to win a 1st team place and i just ask all of the squad to be patient when not involved and to seize their opportunity when it comes along.

Training every Wedneday at the University 7.30 don't forget its a £1.00.

Parky please give Mr Vickers a ring he needs to talk to you about things that need to be done regarding the pitch etc

Pre- season Training

Training commences Wednesday 8th August 7.30pm til 8.30pm at the university ground, Tritton Rd and every week from this date onwards.

Also training will continue 10.30 - 12.00 every Sunday at our home ground, everyone & their mates welcome.

More friendlies are in the pipeline, but if you know of any clubs wanting a friendly fixture let either Paul, Nick or Andy know asap.

Under New Management

As most of you are aware by now, due to both family & work commitments I stepped down as manager of the club at the close of last season.

Those of you who made it to training last Sunday will now know that Paul Chambers has officially taken on the managerial post with immediate effect. While I do aim to offer the club as much help as I am able, I would like to take the opportunity to thank Paul for his commitment to the club and personally wish him every success in his new role as club manager.

Nick Jones will keep up his good work as club treasurer/special events organiser and Andy Parkinson will be handling the club secretarial duties.

I am sure you will all pull together and give Paul, Nick & Andy your full support for the coming season, commitment that both Paul and the club need to successfully continue the good, honest footballing reputation that Bailgate Athletic FC continues to maintain.
