Bailgate Athletic v Inter FC Sunday 30th Sept 2007

After what i thought was a vastly improved display last weekend i will not be making big changes to personnel for this weeks game. We still need to start to work the opposition keeper, as i'm far from happy with our lack of conviction going forward, i hope we will see adifference this week, as we found out only too well last weekend that if you have no attack, eventually we will concede!

the 14 for this week are as follows -

Paul Chambers
Adam Ellmer
Paul Mumby
Neil Bromfield
Marcus Synan
Andrew Parkinson
Andrew Mcgrath
Kevin Carlisle
Norton Robinson
Anthony Fletcher
Tony
Roy Vickers
Josh Vickers
Nick D'ellasandro

Standby -

Ross Baxter
Tim Sands

Parky, please could you get hold of Kev Scott and sign him on, as i know he's keen but not sighned on, thanks.

Training

Afterall the nonsense so far regarding training, i will take it upon myself to ensure that we have a venue weekly that we can train on. I would to thank Anthony for all his efforts, and feel the stick he's been getting bang out of order as i have seen no one else offer to help him.
We still have the problem of a large squad and no real way of competing for places, i understand peoples frustration at being out of the picture at this moment in time, however over the coming weeks as training finally begins i expect to see everyone putting in the required effort to claim a place in the match day squad.
The date and venue for our first training session weill appear on the site tomorrow night.

Anthony u Little Scrot

Have u booked training I need to post it on the blog site??

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

We need as many people down at the ground for 9.30 am Tomorrow, that's Sunday 23rd. There are still alot of things to do to the pitch before we can kick off. We also need people to bring tape to secure the nets to the posts as the metal hooks have now been removed for Health & Safety reasons.

No Ref. in the Echo PC so we could do with Jaffa.

Bailgate Athletic v Sleaford Raiders Sun 23/09/2007 Hykeham Memorial Ground

For this sunday i have made sweeping changes based on the physical nature of the opposition, so those who are left out this week are not out because of ability or form, but tactical reasons. There are a few opportunities this week for players who have not featured too much so far this season to really stake a claim for a starting place.

The 14 for Sunday are as follows

Paul Chambers
Nick Jones
Josh Vickers
Paul Mumby
Adam Ellmer
Roy Vickers
Ross Baxter
Neil Bromfield
Andrew McGrath
Andrew Parkinson
Markus Synan
Norton Robinson
Anthony Fletcher
Tim Sands

Stand by.
Phil Watson
Kevin Carlisle
Tony
Nick D'alessandro

I have rested one or two who have played the first coulpe of games, and they will obviously be wanting their places back!!, we have given the impression to all above us in the 4th Division that we are the whipping boys and i expect everyone on sunday to lift their games in order to put that right!. It would be nice to see those not selected in the 14 attending also on sunday, not only because of the fact of someone not turning up, but also on the emphesis of the fact we have a large squad, and i would expect those not involved to still give the side the support that they in turn expect when they are in the side.

Fletch, can you make sure training is booked for next week, and confirm on sunday please.

BRING YOUR BOOTS

Don't forget Tonight Wednesday 19th Our Ground

7pm - 7.15pm

We can have a kick about until it gets dark.

AN EVENING OF PUTTING GOALS UP

We need as many people at our home ground tonight at 7pm as possible to put the goals up and attempt to mark out the pitch. We have a home game on Sunday so its got to be done.

HAS TRAINING BEEN BOOKED - ANT ?

TRAINING THIS WEEK

Sunday 16th September

10.30 am

OUR GROUND

PLEASE CAN EVERYONE TRY AND MAKE IT

Its very important due to our poor start to the season that as many people turn up as possible - everyone is welcome.

PC wants to go over some set pieces etc

We might go over to NK and use a goal if any are free, or as our pitch is available from the 14th September we could put up the goals, what do you think Parky - do you need to have a word with anyone from Hykeham Town about helping?

Anthony my little Cherub please can u book the Uni for Wednesday 19th 7.30 or 6.30 what is best for everyone.

Hykeham Plough v Bailgate Athletic 9/9/2007 Kick Off 12.30pm

Sorry for the delay in posting the side for sunday, i have been deliberating the line up all all day, as this is the hardest team selection i've ever had to make. Anyone who has missed out on this occassion, please don't take it personally, everyone will get their chance to shine but it's not about individuals, it's about the team....i thankyou for your patience.

The 14 for Sunday is as follows,

Paul Chambers
Kevin Carlisle
Ian Vickers
Paul Mumby
Josh Vickers
Norton Robinson
Nick Jones
Anthony Fletcher
Tony
Andrew Parkinson
Andrew McGrath
Neil Bromfield
Phil Watson
Marcus Synan

Standby :
Adam Ellmer
Roy Vickers
Tim Sands

Training starts again next Wednesday, Ant can you make sure it's booked please?. Can everyone try and make training please, you can't expect to push for a place if you do not attend.

See you all on Sunday.

Squad upDate

Hi Guys and Gals,

just a quickie to remind everyone of the size of the squad and the battle for places, if you miss out at all please remember and respect that i base each side on getting the right blend of players for each game...IE not a side full of Dwarfs, OAP's or Kids........i would extend that to Ugly also, but unfortunately we would be unable to put a side.

Goalkeepers
Paul (Wide Load) Chambers
Ian Vickers (Cover)

Defenders
Kev (Utility Man) Carlisle
Ian Vickers
Josh Vickers
Marcus Synan
Paul (Shearer) Mumby
Neil Bromfield
Alex Mond
Adam Ellmer

Midfield
Roy Vickers
Ross Baxter
Nick Jones
Anthony (High and Wide) Fletcher
Andrew Parkinson
Norton Robinson
Matthew Nicholson
Nick D'allessandro

Forwards
Phil (The Mute) Watson
Andrew Mcgrath
Tony
Kev Scott
Tim Sands

Looking at the above, we are fortunate to have a good blend of graft and guile, apart from butter fingers in goal. Unfortunately not everyone can get a game every week, despite my wish they could. I ask all of you to please be patient and train hard to break into the side.
Any additional Nick-name suggestions welcomed, could be interesting i suppose.

MATCH CANCELLED

The game on Thursday 6th September is off.

Unfortunately we will not be able to use our home pitch until after the 14th September, this is due to the Cricket team still using the ground until then.

We should have been playing the Polish Team White Eagles on Sunday the 9th September but not only have we not got a pitch but they have been suspended from the league.

Parky is trying to rearrange the game with Hykeham Plough on Sunday the 9th at their pitch if its available.

Fletch can you book the Uni for Wednesday the 12th September 7.30pm that's a good boy.

Watch the Blog site for confirmation about Sunday.

Bailgate Athleic v Hykeham Plough 6/9/2007 18:15 Kick off

All in all, there were plenty of positives to take out of the game on sunday - despite the result. It's time we got ruthless in fornt of goal though, and i want to see more efforts going in on goal from both inside and outside the box. There were times on sunday where the final ball was pherhaps the harder option than going for goal from outside the box. i will not, and i also hope no other playrer will critisise any player who wants to have a go at goal, it's ok to play the good football that we do, but there needs to be an end product, so lets get more positive and make every opposition keeper earn their corn.

The 14 for our first Home game of the season are as follows :

Paul Chambers
Marcus Synan
Ian Vickers
Paul Mumby
Neil Bromfield
Kevin Carlise
Nick Jones
Andrew Parkinson
Anthony Fletcher
AndrewMcGrath
Phil Watson
Tim Childs
Nick Dellessandro
Adam

Standby :

Alex Mond

Royal Mail v Bailgate Athletic 2/9/2007

Hi Guys,
Well after what i believe has been a preseason full of real positives and very few negatives, at long last we find ourselves at the start of our league campaign.
I would like to thank everyone for their hard work throughout the preseason, and i feel we have a shown during that time the kind of quality that we are capable of if we work for one another and believe in ourselves that bit more.
We have 3 games coming up in the next seven days, and i have the difficult task in trying to make sure everyone gets as much football as i can possibly give them. so i therefore ask that if your name is not in the 14 for this Sunday, please keep faith and come down to support the lads. everyone in the squad has the ability to win a 1st team place and i just ask all of the squad to be patient when not involved and to seize their opportunity when it comes along.

Thank you

Paul.

Those of you who made it to training last Sunday will now know that Paul Chambers has officially taken on the managerial post with immediate effect. While I do aim to offer the club as much help as I am able, I would like to take the opportunity to thank Paul for his commitment to the club and personally wish him every success in his new role as club manager.

Nick Jones will keep up his good work as club treasurer/special events organiser and Andy Parkinson will be handling the club secretarial duties.

I am sure you will all pull together and give Paul, Nick & Andy your full support for the coming season, commitment that both Paul and the club need to successfully continue the good, honest footballing reputation that Bailgate Athletic FC continues to maintain.
